ANRE met with EBRD representatives

August 13, 2019, the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) held a meeting with the representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the Energy Community Secretariat and Romania's natural gas transporter Transgaz.

The agenda of the meeting included the following topics: the cooperation in the area of structural reforms in the natural gas sector; the project of the new Methodology for calculating the tariffs for the natural gas transmission services; and the separation of the transmission system operators’ activities in the natural gas sector. The Methodology project was elaborated with the support from the experts of the Energy Community Secretariat and is published on ANRE's website for public consultations.

The discussions also touched upon the subject of renewable energy, as well as the ongoing assistance provided by the EBRD to the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure of the Republic of Moldova. The meeting emphasized the importance of the ongoing efforts to ensure a transparent and predictable legislative framework, which provides the necessary conditions to obtain best possible results, from a technical and economic point of view, in the process of applying the support mechanisms offered by the Government to potential producers of electricity from renewable sources.

The participants discussed also the issues regarding the implementation and financing of the interconnection projects of the electricity and natural gas transmission networks between the Republic of Moldova and Romania.

At the end of the meeting, the participants agreed to continue the cooperation in the process of developing normative acts that are in line with the commitments made under the Energy Community Treaty.
